Dates Set for 8th Grade Visits to CHS

The eight graders will be visiting CHS to learn more about what to expect as ninth graders. The students will be transported in buses to CHS on one of three days: April 18, 19 or 21. The specific visit day will be determined by your team and will be announced shortly.

The Parent Meeting for all eight grade parents will be April 21st at 6:30 pm in the CHS Commons. Registration information will be discussed at this time, so it is VERY IMPORTANT for all parents to attend this meeting.

Getting Ready for New Raiders

              

The Transitions team has been meeting for almost a month, and we are excited about getting ready to welcome next year's 6th grade class and help prepare our 8th graders to enter the high school world. Lots of new plans are underway and details are being finalized everyday.

If you have a child in a transitions year (5th or 8th), be on the lookout for a special insert in your next Parent Link with important information about registration, orientation and FAQ's for parents.

6th grade registration days will be held at each elementary school in May, along with the popular orientation week where all 5th graders are transported by bus to CMS for a special day of middle school orientation.

Raider Ambassadors applications are available in the guidance department for current CMS students who would like to serve as leaders during orientation week, and at other events throughout next year.

CHS guidance counselors will be visiting CMS in April to start the process of 9th grade registration. 8th grade parents may visit the CHS Guidance website and begin looking at course requirements and course descriptions for your student. More information on registration will be provided soon.
